This exhibition of New York photographs relates in a variety of ways to Inge Morath’s work. One of Morath’s very large and early series revolves around New York, as do a number of her most famous photographs. New York fascinated Inge Morath throughout her career, and she chose New York as her theme for an anniversary exhibition of works by members of the Magnum agency that is planned for this year.
In the summer of 1999, the Kunsthalle Wien will honor Inge Morath with a large retrospective exhibition. The Galerie Fotohof and the Otto Müller Verlag in Salzburg are planning to publish a new photography book of Morath’s most important portrait photographs within the coming year.
